Amazon Luna and the membership
Two gaming benefits, one membership, and a distinction nobody bothers to draw. Prime Gaming gives you games to keep. Luna streams them.
The short answer
Amazon's Prime benefit page lists "Must-play gaming" — "Play from a library of over 50 games, including family-friendly games with Amazon Luna, no console required". That is Amazon Luna, its cloud gaming service, and it reaches Prime for Young Adults because the membership grants full Prime benefits. No console required is the load-bearing phrase for a student living out of one bag.
This is not the same benefit as Prime Gaming, and treating them as one thing is the standard error. Prime Gaming is free game titles and in-game content that you claim and keep, plus a Twitch channel subscription. Luna streams games to a device you already own. Different mechanisms, different value.

Both are included. Neither is the reason to buy the membership. But for a student whose gaming hardware is a laptop that also has to write essays, the second column is the more interesting one — it is the benefit that turns a work machine into a games machine without buying anything.
What cloud gaming actually needs from you
The honest constraint is not hardware, it is the network. Cloud gaming sends video down and inputs up in real time, which makes it unusually sensitive to a connection that is fine for everything else you do. Campus wifi in a full hall of residence at 9pm is a genuinely different network from the same wifi at 9am.
We are not going to quote a required bandwidth figure, because Amazon publishes its own current requirements and ours would be second-hand. What we will say is this: test it on the network you will actually use, during the hours you will actually use it, inside the free trial. That is a question your own connection answers better than any specification.

What we cannot tell you
- Which 50-plus games are in the library. It rotates, and a list published today is wrong next quarter.
- Whether a specific title is included. Check it in Luna while signed in; that answer is current by definition.
- What Luna costs on its own, or on its paid tiers. Amazon does not publish that on the benefit page we verify against.
- Whether the included tier differs from a paid one. Same reason.
That is a lot of unknowns for one benefit, and it is worth saying why we leave them visible rather than filling them in. This site's whole position is that a sourced gap is more useful than an unsourced answer — the standard in full.
Where this sits in the decision
Nowhere near the top, and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise. Delivery decides the membership; gaming is upside. But it belongs on the list of things to actually try during the trial, because it is the kind of benefit people discover eighteen months in and wish they had known about — the same category as the photo storage nobody claims.
If gaming genuinely is a big part of what you do, run both benefits side by side during the six months: claim the Prime Gaming titles, and test whether Luna is playable on your network. Between them they replace more spending than most of the benefit list does.
